What are must have menu items for Thanksgiving dinner?

What menu items do you have to have for Thanksgiving Dinner? Please share ideas and recipes if possible. I would appreciate your help.

Wow…no one has mentioned a pumpkin pie. It’s a must to squeeze in a small slice (topped with whipped cream)…

***Perfect Pumpkin Pie***

Ingredients
1 (15 oz.) can pumpkin (about 2 cups)
1 (14 oz.) can Eagle Brand® Sweetened Condensed Milk
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust

Instructions
HEAT oven to 425°F. Whisk pumpkin, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, spices and salt in medium bowl until smooth. Pour into crust.
BAKE 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F; bake an additional 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted 1-inch from crust comes out clean. Cool. Garnish as desired.

    I planned this menu for this year’s thanksgiving.. now you can copy it all but I suggest taking points and then adding your own flare to it…

    I love canned Cranberry sauce. It’s the condiment that makes Thanksgiving.

    But other than that, we’re pretty traditional, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes with maple syrup and marshmallows on top, stuffing, and green bean casserole.

    Sweet Potatoes….(1 lb) peeled,cooked (boiled) then mashed until smooth…blend in 1/4 cup dark syrup; 1/4 cup brown sugar ; top with marshmellows ; Bake at 350* 30 minutes; uncovered in 2 qt. casserole dish or 13×9 pan…
    Cranberry Salad……1 package Cranberries; mashed; 1 tub or carton of cool whip; 1 bunch (appx. 1/2 lb) grapes;red or green; halved ; 1/4 cup sugar (or to taste) ; 1/4 cup walnut pieces; Mix all well and refridgerate at least 2-3 hours prior to serving.

    10 apples chopped

    put all that in a foil lined baking pan and cook in oven 350. stir every 15 min till tender

    We always have turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing and some side dishes, here are some great recipes:

    Creamy Broccoli Casserole

    1 (16 ounce) package frozen broccoli, thawed
    2 tablespoons butter
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    2 cups milk
    1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cubed
    1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    1 cup crushed buttery round crackers

    Directions

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

    Place broccoli in a potr over 1 inch of boiling water, and cover. Cook until tender but still firm, about 4 to 6 minutes; drain.

    Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in salt, flour, and milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until thick and bubbly. Stir in cream cheese until melted. Remove from heat, and stir in broccoli and cheddar cheese.

    Sprinkle 1/2 cup of crushed crackers over the bottom of a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Slowly pour the broccoli mixture into the dish, and top with remaining crushed crackers.

    Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes.

    Potato Casserole

    1 (2 pound) package frozen diced hash brown potatoes, thawed
    1/2 cup melted butter
    1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
    1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
    1/2 cup chopped onions
    2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
    2 cups crushed cornflakes cereal
    1/4 cup melted butter

    Directions

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

    In a large bowl, combine hash browns, 1/2 cup melted butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, chopped onion, Cheddar cheese, salt and pepper. Place mixture in a 3 quart casserole dish.

    Combine cornflakes and 1/4 cup melted butter, and sprinkle the mixture over the top of the casserole.

    Bake covered in preheated oven for 40 minutes.

    2 tablespoons butter
    2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon white sugar
    1/4 cup onion, diced
    1 cup sour cream
    3 (14.5 ounce) cans French style green beans, drained
    2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
    1/2 cup crumbled buttery round crackers
    1 tablespoon butter, melted

    Directions

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

    Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in flour until smooth, and cook for one minute. Stir in the salt, sugar, onion, and sour cream. Add green beans, and stir to coat.

    Transfer the mixture to a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. Spread shredded cheese over the top. In a small bowl, toss together cracker crumbs and remaining butter, and sprinkle over the cheese.

    Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the top is golden and cheese is bubbly.
