When is the proper time to start decorating?

I just bought a lot of Fall/Harvest decorations on clearance today (I love clearance). And I figure I can put them up until Thanksgiving and then replace them with Christmas decorations.

I never decorated for Fall before, so whens the right time to take them down and put up Christmas?
I dont feel the Christmas spirit till after Thanksgiving, so no worries there. I was just curious if the fall ones would be good up to Thanksgiving. Thanks guys

Any days after Thanksgiving..sometimes ppl decorate for Cmas on thanksgiving as a ‘family tradition’

There is nothing written in stone about this. Just watch what the stores do. Everyone does their own thing.

For fall start decorating mid September. Then put your Thanksgiving stuff up the first weekend in November. Christmas I start after Thanksgiving. Usually I do start Saturday or Sunday but I don’t do it all at once. I try to enjoy the whole weekend as a Thanks giving.

You can take them down and decorate for Christmas the day AFTER Thanksgiving.

You can start decorating for fall when the leaves start changing color.

It should be illegal to decorate/play Christmas music before Thanksgiving.

I decorate for fall at the beginning of October. Christmas stuff goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving or the first week of December (whichever I feel like doing!). You can put them up when you want! I usually take the Christmas decorations down around New Year’s Day.

But please don’t play Christmas music before December LOL. I heard it at Walmart YESTERDAY. Its 3 weeks till Thanksgiving still!

Hope i helped and remember its fun to decorate – not a job. So enjoy 🙂

We usually put up our Christmas decorations the first week
of December. So, I would take down the fall decorations the
weekend right after thanks-giving. This year that would be the
29th & 30th. But you can take them down any time after thanks
giving and before the first snow fall. Good luck, whatever you decide.
And happy thanks-giving & merry, almost, Christmas.

As soon as December hits, that’s when you should start replacing fall decorations.

That’s new, I have never come across decorations for Autumn/Fall before!

I tend to put my Christmas decorations up sometime after the 1st December. Thus far my Dobes have been remarkably restrained in not making toys out of them!!!

I always decorate the week before Christmas. If I have that much crap hanging around my yard and home, I feel cluttered and annoyed and the whole holiday is ruined for me.
