It’s my 1st time making Thanksgiving Dinner, Any good Dressing recipes to Impress My In Laws?

A person can never go wrong with the good ole cornbread dressing. Some people make the bread dressing and put apples and cranberries in it but to me cornbread dressing is still the best! I make it every year.

    WALNUT-APPLE STUFFING

    Makes 6 to 8 servings

    3 bunches scallions, minced
    2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
½ teaspoon each: dried thyme, savory

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Place the diced bread on a baking sheet.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until dry and lightly browned. Heat the margarine in a large skillet.
Add the red onion and saute over moderate heat until golden.
Add the apple and saute for another 5 minutes.

In a mixing bowl, combine the bread cubes with the onion and apple mixture.
Add all the remaining ingredients except the apple juice and toss together.
Sprinkle in the apple juice slowly, stirring at the same time to moisten the ingredients evenly.
Transfer the mixture to an oiled shallow l ½-quart baking pan.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until browned and still slightly moist.
Stir once during the baking time.

Here is how I make my cornbread dressing

    1 big pan of cornbread
    5 boiled eggs
    2 stalks of celery
    2 whole onions
    4-5 cans chicken broth
    1 container sage

OK crumble up your cornbread, chop up your eggs, celery & onion and mix it all up—put about half the bottle of sage (its not a lot trust me). Then pour in your cans of chicken broth one by one. Once it is a nice smooth consistency (like cornbread is b4 you bake it) taste it, if it needs more sage, add it, it is really all up to your taste, there is no wrong amount!

Put it in a baking pan and bake on 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.

ITS DELICIOUS! feel free to add or take away any ingredients!

Ask your husband who makes the best dressing in the family, and then call them for the recipe. I use my Mother in Laws recipe, and its a great way to tie all our families together and keep a tradition.

The one that comes to my mind is the one my mom makes for the Holidays. She cuts up lettuce and tomatoes and onions and then pour ranch dressing all over the salad where it is soaked in it.It is a great side dish for the holiday dinners.
