First time prepairing Thanksgiving dinner?
Can you help me find good recipes for turkey, side dishes, and deserts?
I used to go to my grandmas for Thanksgiving. But she died in April. I got custody of the two children she was raising. I want to plan a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner for them. Do you think you can help me? Do you know of any good websights or books?
last thanksgiving was my first time preparing thanksgiving dinner and i found a lot of wonderful recipes from paula deen on foodnetwork. of course at the time it was what they were showing the few weeks before thanksgiving and i also bought her magazine. my familys best food memory of thanksgiving last year was the pineapple upside down biscuits , also a paula deen recipe! ive listed it below for you. good luck and so sorry that you lost your grandma! best wishes to you and yours this holiday season!
Pineapple Upside-Down Biscuits Recipe
1 (10-ounce) can crushed pineapple
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, at room temperature
10 maraschino cherries
1 (12-ounce) package refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (10 count)
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Grease 10 cups of a muffin tin. Strain the can of crushed pineapple, save juice for later. Combine the pineapple, sugar, and butter, and mix well. Divide the pineapple mixture among the muffin cups. Place a cherry in the center of each muffin cup, making sure cherry hits bottom of cup. Place 1 biscuit in each cup on top of sugar and pineapple mixture. Spoon 1 teaspoon reserved pineapple juice over each biscuit. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden. Cool for 2 minutes. Invert the pan onto a plate to release the biscuits. Serve warm.
What should I make for my church’s thanksgiving dinner?
My church is holding our annual Thanksgiving dinner Saturday night and I must bring a covered dish.
I want something simple, but delicious, with very few ingredients. A side dish, or even a dessert. More than likely I don’t want to make a dessert (everyone will be making a dessert).
What should I make? Something creative that nobody else would bring….. Nothing like mashed potatoes (somebody more than like is bringing them).
Thanks…. If you just want to give me a recipe or if you just want to tell me some ideas.
How about a fruit salad made with chopped fruit, chopped nuts and those mini colored marshmallows for additional color. Make a glaze for the dressing using orange juice and powdered sugar – bring to a boil, cool, and mix into the salad. It’s always been a hit at my Great-Aunt’s church and no one else ever brought it.
The other thing she always brought was strawberries dipped in chocolate.
I need a kid friendly vegan recipe for thanksgiving dinner? that non-vegan children will like?
any ideas?
we are a vegan family but my nieces are not we are celebrating thanksgiving and I need some vegan tips
I need a good recipe for sweet potatoes or Yams for Thanksgiving dinner?
I usually make mine with brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, and marshmallows; but this year I would like to do something different. Any ideas?
I used a pecan syrup (the kind they make for pancakes) one year, it was very good, just poured that over the peeled and cut-up sweet potatoes (about a 2 inch chunk), then baked them in a casserole dish covered with foil.
I normally just bake them (unpeeled), split them and butter them, then mash them a bit with a fork on my plate, I’m not fond of sweet stuff on my sweet potatoes/yams.
What should I do for Thanksgiving dinner?
What should I do for Thanksgiving dinner? My mom is out of the country and she’s the person who always makes the food. I’m only a 12-year old so only simple recipes please. Oh, do you think I’ll be able to cook a turkey?
Call Wal-Mart and ask about their Thanksgiving pre-cooked meal. I think it’s only about $60 and has a turkey and a bunch of sides already cooked, and you just pick it up. Where is your dad, hon? He should be worrying about this, not you!
What do you think of these recipes for Thanksgiving?
This year, I’ve decided to make a vegetable side dish and a dessert for Thanksgiving dinner? What do you think of these two dishes? Have any better suggestions that would "wow" my family?
Vegetable Casserole:

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake:

I would change the vegetable casserole for green bean casserole. It is not Thanksgiving at my house without it. Your dessert sounds wonderful. Have a happy Thanksgiving.
What are some other types of turkey i can use for thanksgiving dinner?
My friends and I want to make a thanksgiving dinner that is cheap and still good. We don’t have time to cook an entire turkey. Does anyone know of any other turkey recipes that don’t take too long and isn’t that expensive? What other "forms" of turkey can i buy at the store to use rather than the whole bird?
You can buy and roast a turkey breast or try turkey parts – legs and thighs or breasts and wings; turkey medallions – bake them on top of some stuffing like you would chicken.
How many people serve baked Macaroni and Cheese at Thanksgiving dinner?
I never heard this before until someone mentioned how they couldn’t wait for it, then someone else entirely asked me if I had a good recipe for my dinners, and of course, never heard of it! OUr family saves mac and cheese for the summer BBQ Holidays like Memorial Day and July 4th! So who has this side dish during Thanksgiving?!?
ME,ME,ME….I just love homemade mac&cheese..see it can’t be out of no box it has to be homemade with three cheeses and let it bake for about a hour and a half..it’s truly the best and I make it every year and folks looks forward to it,,
