I am baking a cake for part of thanksgiving dinner. Any ideas on what kind to make???
My mom is making the traditional pumpkin and pecan pies so I kind of want to stay away from spice type cakes. I was thinking about some banana bread or even a pineapple upsidedown cake.
I make a rocky road ice cream pie every year and people it’s the first thing gone. If you want the recipe just add details. It’s simple and fast to make.

Go to http://www.emerils.com and look for the pumpkin bread pudding. It’s a pretty amazing holiday dessert and you can top it with their kentucky bourbon sauce.

I saw the cutest cake. You make 2 bundt cakes, place the bottoms (flat side) together and frost it with orange icing. Once all the icing is on the cakes pull the spreader from top to bottom over both cakes to it has sections on it like a pumpkin. Save a small amount of your batter and make one cupcake, unwrap it and frost the bottom of the cupcake green. Place the green cupcake flat side up in the hole in the middle of the bundt cakes.

OLGA’s PINEAPPLE UPSIDE-DOWN CAKE:
1/2 cup margarine (1 stick) melted
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup walnuts (chopped)
1 can pinneapple slices (reserve syrup)
1 jar maraschino cherries
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 eggs
1/4 cup pineapple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
Place the butter, brown sugar and walnuts in a frying pan and melt until it boils or bubbles. A cast iron pan works well because it’s heavy and will be less likely to scorch. Place pineapples in the sugar mixture. Put cherries in the center of each pineapple. Cut the slices of pineapple into halves and line the sides of the frying pan with them (standing up on edge). In a bowl, combine sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and set aside. In seperate bowl, beat eggs until fluffy. Combine eggs, pineapple syrup, vanilla and
dry ingredients; mix until smooth. Pour batter into the pan being careful not to disturb the pineapples and cherries. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to stand for a few minutes to set and loosen the edges with a butter knife. Turn it upside down onto a serving dish. Serve while still warm.
