Some ideas for appitizers before Thanksgiving Dinner.?

I try to have Thanksgiving dinner done by 2:00pm. While waiting, the kids always want to nibble. I need some ideas for appitizers. Not nothing to fancy, I’m busy enough with Thanksgiving Dinner. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Busy Mom

Veggie trays are easy and cheese and crackers. Carrots, Celery, Olives, Peppers, Cheese, Crackers, Veggie Dip Yummy! Better yet, try and get the kids outside playing a pick up football game or something – America’s youth doesnt play outside like we used to!

    A veggie tray with assorted veggies and some ranch dressing or a tray with assorted pickles, olives, and such. Might even have a tray of both. All are foods that are good for them and don’t have lots of calories to fill them up too much for dinner.

    What my mother used to serve was like bread and butter pickles, celery with pimento cheese spread in them, plain celery, some green olives.

    Veggie plates w/ dips or something like Oysters wrapped in bacon, which always goes over well;

    Ingredients
    2 cans smoked oysters
    1/4 cup canola oil
    1/2 pound bacon
    3 tablespoons minced garlic

    Directions
    Cut bacon strips in thirds. Wrap a bacon slice around each oyster, and place a toothpick through to hold it in place. Set aside.

    In a medium skillet, heat oil and garlic. Cook wrapped oysters in oil until bacon is crisp. Remove from pan, and place on a paper towel to drain.
