Using construction paper in thanksgiving-y colors, make handprint turkeys and paper chains. Strands of cranberries. Bowls of holiday-fall-scented potpourri. Fold up squares of paper and cut out shapes, then unfold to make beautiful snowflakes. Let her be creative, use her imagination and have fun!

Make some turkeys using hand prints. You can make leaves from paper.
You can take leaves from outside, put them under paper and then shade with crayons over top of the leaf and you will be able to see the leaf print.

For a ten year old the hand turkey might be a little bit boring. Although, I still think it is a great project. Your cousin can make a Thanksgiving topiary or tree of thanks.

    Here’s what you will need:

    >a small garden plant pot (or a can that is covered in pretty construction paper on the outside).
    >two pieces of foam, one round one and one that can be round or any shape
    >cranberries, cloves, or other natural items, this can also be done with fake flowers
    >sticks, twigs
    >some dry moss, rafia, or cranberries (uncooked)
    >Optional, a piece of ribbon to match, toothpicks (if using cranberries), and spray glitter

    1. Place the foam that is not round in the bottom of the container
    2. Find a large straight stick and push it in to the foam, make sure it is straight up. Don’t push it all the way through so it touches the pot or can on the bottom.
    3. Stick the round foam on the top of the stick. Again, don’t push it all the way through.
    4. Then push your flowers, cloves, or cranberries into the round foam. For the cranberries, you will first need to stick them with a toothpick and then stick it in to the foam.
    5. Keep sticking things in until your foam is completely covered. The smaller your object, the longer it will take.
    6. Then, cover the bottom foam with moss or more cranberries (just pile them on until the foam is covered, no toothpicks needed)
    7. Finally, tie a ribbon around the "trunk" of your topiary

To make an even simpler version, Instead of using a strainght stick, use one that has lots of little branches coming off of it so it looks like a little tree. Stick it into the foam in the container. You will not need a seconf piece of foam. Then, using constuction paper, cut out little leaves in whatever Thanksgiving colors you want. Punch a hole in one end of the "leaf" and use ribbon, yarn, or string to hang the leaves from the tree. On the leaves, ahead of time, ask people to write what they are Thankful for, or interview them and write it for them. It is a pretty decoration. Cover the bottom up the same way you covered the topiaries.
