Thanksgiving meal planning?

I will be serving canned corn for thanksgiving. I would like a way to make it more fancy. I don’t want the taste to change. I just want a way to make it look not like I opened a can and put it in a bowl.
I loved canned (not frozen) corn. It will be one of at least ten different vegetable side dishes.

Since you say you don’t want the taste to change I wouldn’t saute anything into it as that will definitely change the taste. If your fond of canned corn, then darn it, stick with it! Make it fancy by serving in a lovely bowl, glass would be nice to let the color shine through and then put a little greenery on top like a simple bit of parsley in the middle, maybe a sprinkle of cayenne pepper across the top (not much flavor there). Alternatively, what about serving it around your turkey? That would look nice and would just get some of the flavoring from the meat. Have a great thanksgiving!

    Take a red bell pepper and some yellow onion and dice both. Saute them until tender in a little olive oil and mix them with your corn. It will make it nice and pretty. Also, if you add a little green bell pepper also you’ll have three colors in it – the red, green and your yellow corn. Add a little black pepper and some dried parsley to it as well.

    The best kind of canned corn that I like is ShoePeg corn.

    Frozen corn would taste fresher, but in any event, try putting some color into it, like some slivers of cooked red bell pepper or buy a jar of roasted red peppers cut them into small pieces or pimento, a little bit of finely chopped green onion and don’t forget, lots of butter.

    Canned corn for Thanksgiving? Thank goodness, I’m not eating at your house. Go buy the real thing or better yet, if you are serving potatoes don’t serve corn. Too many carbs.

    But you can make corn sticks and add kernel corn to the batter. Finely mince a jalapeno pepper in the batter as well, and serve with pepper jelly.
